How My First Medium Article Generated $200+ In A Week
This was a couple years back. I was writing an article on “How I started in Web Development”. I was 15 and wanted to share an informative article on the subject of web development. Not just a simple article, but a comprehensive guide on the subject. Little did I know that this article would bring in $200 in less than a week which for a 15 year old, was a pretty big deal.
I had spent hours and hours perfecting it making it as detailed as possible. It took only a few hours for it to hit a couple thousand views, a couple hundred claps, tens of dollars made. I had never experienced what it was like to actually make real money. After a week or so, these were the stats.
Not bad for a 15 year old, you may say… I never would’ve though it was possible to make actual money from writing. You may ask, how did I do it:

It won’t come as a surprise but luck definitely played part in the process, this was my first article and it had blown up, 25 thousand people had actually clicked on it and read a bit of it. Though luck was important, I did some things that definitely helped boost the growth of the article.
